Two good quotes to remember forever, and I have written what they really mean below each one:
"Scorn also to depress thy competitor by any dishonest or unworthy method; strive to raise thyself above him only by excelling him; so shall thy contest for superiority be crowned with honor, if not with success." -- Akhenaten
-- When you have a hater or competitor on your back, do not try to battle them or beat them through negative words or actions, instead strive for EXCELLENCE in what you do to raise yourself above them. So in the end, you truly will be the more honorable one in the contest for superiority, whether or not you become more successful. Why? Because honor weighs more than success.
"The ambitious will always be first in the crowd; he presseth forward, he looketh not behind him. More anguish is it to his mind to see one before him, than joy to leave thousands at a distance." -- Akhenaten-- Ambitious people will always be ahead of the herd and stand away from the herd. They always press forward and never look behind them. Only those that see someone race ahead of them has a mind filled with anguish. While the ambitious person is filled with joy for racing ahead in the distance, or on his own path far away from the norm. So in other words, those that aren't ambitious or don't try to push themselves ahead, will always be envious of those who are. It is more joyful to strive to achieve dreams, than to be the bitter person watching others do what they are too weak or scared to do.
