If you are a filmmaker from the Midwest region or east coast, soon there will be no reason to move to Hollywood. Everything you need will be close by in DETROIT. With massive tax incentives for film production, most producers will forget L.A AND Canada altogether. Move to Detroit. The people are a thousand times more realer and the vibe is so much tighter than anything you'll experience on the west coast.
To have studios set up in the "D" would be my dream. I think it would trigger the peak of "indie". You got a huge core of artists and the majority of freaks in the States all consolidated all around that region. Some of the best films and TV shows to date, were written by writers or created by producers that were raised in the Midwest. Bruckheimer, John Hughes, Paul Feig, Lipton, name it. All Midwest - Ohio or Michigan. Look it up. That area is heavily gifted too in music. The only problem is with a lot of those people from those parts, is that they have so much talent they can't believe it's worth anything.
