I don't watch TV or award shows, but somebody should have given Pierce Bronson some kind of recognition award for his role in The Matador. Seriously. I never liked "Mr. Bond" before this dark comedy, but he gave a super brilliant performance as a twisted, lonely hitman that it convinced me of his weight as an actor. You will love this demented character he plays so well.So I saw a dude selling DVDs at the train station the other day and grabbed this one just to watch it again. One, it was in English. Two, it was the only proven gem to be found amongst the crap selection of commercial blockbusting bullshit. If you haven't seen it yet, don't overlook this flick.
